RIEJU MR 300 RACING MACHINE IN PRODUCTION!
Spanish manufacturer Rieju acquired the rights to continue production of the 2020 GasGas 200, 250 and 300cc EC, XC and GP models earlier this year, as well as the Ranger model from 2020.
The Figueres-near-Barcelona-based firm promised that new 2021 models would appear in dealer showrooms from June 2020 and has delivered on that pledge with the introduction of the Rieju MR 300 Racing, which has started rolling off the Spanish manufacturer’s production line this week.
Based on the proven race-winning GasGas model, the MR 300 Racing is uprated with considerable improvements with new radiators, starter system and battery. It carries a suggested retail price of £6,995.00, Inc VAT and is powered by a 55HP two-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor, KYB suspension, Nissin brakes and, of course, the peace of mind that comes from a machine produced by a factory with a 75-year history that currently manufactures more than 15,000 motorcycles on an annual basis.
The iconic brand is now supported by Urban Moto Distribution. The Lincolnshire-based company has over 12 years of experience selling and supporting the Rieju range, and is best-placed to launch the MR 300 Racing in June with 200cc and 250cc versions set to follow.
Talking of the new distribution set up and new Rieju models, Jamie Masterman, Export Manager for Rieju SA said; “With the introduction this month of the proven Enduro 200/250/300 2T series formerly sold by GasGas, the Rieju brand is going from strength to strength. European Rieju sales have now exceeded 15,000 units in the past year and our NUUK electric range has recently won major contracts with the Spanish postal service. I’m pleased that in the UK we can now offer closer factory support, a wider range of products and improved dealer margins.
“Full support is in place for the existing dealer network, covering parts, technical, and sales. Existing Rieju dealers will be contacted shortly.
“The Spanish factory, famous for fast 50s powered by genuine Yamaha motors will be adding further 300cc 2T Enduro machines to the 2020 line-up to support the range of 50cc, 125cc, Electric, and E-Bikes.”
